This session will examine indigenous knowledge to identify and craft conceptual models, metrics and indicators of ecosystem health and ecosystem interactions that might help guide restoration planning, prioritization, and performance assessment. For example, in the Salish Sea, Coast Salish people traditionally have had a holistic appreciation of the interaction of physical and biological processes across watersheds and coastal environments, particularly as they affect First Foods and cultural practices.
